KAMARES (The Old Aqueduct)

Kamares, meaning arches, are the trademark of Kavala and a listed monument. In the early 16th century the arid peninsula of Panagia was supplied with water emanating from the Old Kavala.The water was channeled to the city by a terrestrial pipeline six and a half kilometers long , starting from a source located at an altitude of 400 meters and ended at Kamares
